Jataka Parijata is a collection of sayings, often called 'charms', in Sanskrit verse attributed to Gautama Buddha. The Jataka Parijata meaning is "the myth of the maiden". A compilation of sayings attributed to Gautama Buddha, the Jataka Parijata was compiled later than some other Buddhist texts. It consists mostly of verses or short prose passages, each typically accompanied by an illustration. This book contains 227 chits - verses or short prose passages usually with an accompanying illustration - typically averaging around 5-6 sentences in length. According to the 18th century Japanese monk Kōbō Daishi, Jataka Parijata is one of the most famous collections of sayings that reflect the life of Buddha. He further describes this collection as one of the important sources for Buddhism. The stories in this collection are often thought to be about events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama after his enlightenment. They are often placed directly before or after his renunciation of princely life and subsequent discovery of his path to enlightenment. These stories are usually about things that happened during his travels, sometimes too shortly before or after the time period shortly following his introduction to meditation, he is said to have obtained enlightenment at Bodhgaya. The book contains a collection of a few hundred verses, each beginning with the word "jātaka" ("birth story"). It is traditionally believed by Buddhists that Buddha composed them as a teaching device to remind his disciples of the virtues of patience, humility and simplicity. In many cases, however, these stories follow familiar stories from Vedic literature. For example, Siddhartha Gautama may travel from his home in Kapilvastu to Varanasi on his search for enlightenment. In this particular story: The Buddha goes on to teach: This story appears in the book "Jataka Tales: Stories from the Lives of the Buddhas". The Buddha tells the story of Jain monk Bhadrabahu who, in his own lifetime, was cursed by his father so that he would be unable to give up his possessions. The Jataka story also includes Prince Siddhartha's renunciation of throne-life. This book contains 100 tales which include the three main Buddhist teachings: suffering, impermanence and non-self. The verses are short and thus suitable for memorization. This collection is part of Buddhist scripture and can be found in many places in Asian countries behind 'Miraculous Images'.https://www.stephenreedbooks. com/en/downloads/jataka-parijata-hindi-pdf.html https://www.stephenreedbooks.com/en/downloads/jataka-parijata-hindi-ebook.htmlhttps://buddhistbooks.org/category/jataka http://www.buddha2you.com//resources_and_contents_of_the_book_of_the_kings-e00761754e3f2a61e000cb9d432f3580_. cfa1e77820
